RLM v3.0 is the latest release of RateIntegration’s flagship loyalty management solution. Since it first went into production at a customer site over two years ago, RLM has been steadily enhanced and this latest version opens up a new and exciting chapter for telecommunications operators in their struggle with the critical business issues of retention, accelerating new subscriber acquisition rates, enhancing brand awareness and the customer experience, and creating new partner-driven revenue streams.

RLM provides an innovative design for supporting all manner of promotions from static, mass market promotions to dynamic real-time promotions. Because RLM is an on-line event-driven platform, it can support advanced promotions well beyond the scope of traditional campaign management and marketing software, that is to say, highly personalized promotions where notification messages and benefits are delivered in real-time to the subscriber in the context of specific location, activity, transaction, and/or time windows.

As shown in the Figure, RLM is intended to be used by business people such as Marketing Managers and so has a graphical user interface. This GUI, called the RLM Catalog Manager (RCM), provides a complete point-and-click environment for business users to define all aspects of a promotion - all parameters, transaction trigger types, definition and tracking rules for dynamic subscriber profiles, benefits, and the promotion business rules. Users publish catalogs of promotions in a completely automated manner to the RLM Promotions Execution Server (RLX).

RLX is a high-performance on-line application server designed to execute promotions as follows:

  • Consume events via a flexible I/O framework. RLX can be configured for events of any type and is designed for both bulk and real-time event flows.
  • Scan each event and apply all promotion rules for which the event is eligible.
  • Pull external Business Data for read-only use, where specified by promotions logic.
  • Update promotion-specific dynamic subscriber profiles.
  • Generate notification and/or benefit messages when promotion criteria are met. These messages are sent to downstream systems via integration points within the flexible I/O framework. Sample integration points are messaging gateways for SMS notification and billing / IN systems to award on-network credits.
